Goodwin Electric’s Safety Philosophy
Goodwin Industrial Electric puts safety at the forefront of every project and considers accident prevention and safety training to be the number one priority.
We proactively work with experts in the safety industry to ensure that everyone who works for or with us meets our requirements of safety knowledge and training. We are a members of the British Columbia Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA) and British Columbia Safety Charter. We are very proud of our BCCSA Certificate of Recognition (COR).
At Goodwin, safety shortcuts are never an option. Our Project Managers and Foremen ensure that all new employees are fully trained on the tools we use, and that they are fully acquainted with on-site safety and reporting procedures prior to starting any work. In addition, specialized training, tools and equipment are constantly being reviewed and upgraded, to ensure a safe and productive working environment.
Our employees, through our JOSH committee, are involved in the ongoing development of our company safety policies and procedures. They are encouraged to think outside the box to help develop new and more efficient ways to promote safety. Everyone at Goodwin must comply with the company’s Occupational Health and Safety policies, our customers policies, as well as all Workers’ Compensation Board rules and regulations.
We also require our employees to have current training/testing in all necessary facets of today’s construction industry, including WHMIS, first aid/CPR, fall protection, aerial work platforms and hearing tests, to name just a few.
