Heating Plant Installation & Commissioning
Goodwin was contracted to deliver the electrical scope for a new 4,500kW heating plant as part of Phase 1. This high-profile installation is prominently visible to the public and showcases Goodwin’s commitment to quality, safety, and precision.
The project included:
- Installation and commissioning of three gas boilers, three boiler loop pumps, and three district energy system (DES) loop pumps.
- Integration of field instrumentation, including temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, flow meters, and energy calculators.
- Supply and installation of main power feeders, cable tray systems, and support structures tailored to site aesthetics and layout.
- Deployment of 600V and 120/208V electrical panels, UPS systems, and transformers, along with all required breakers and mounting hardware.
- Installation of VFDs, magnetic starters, and owner-supplied PLC cabinets, with full instrumentation and control wiring to field devices.
- QA/QC verification, including motor testing and commissioning support for field devices.
Goodwin’s team worked in parallel with other trades to maintain schedule alignment, applying its proven Best Practices and Procedures to navigate logistical challenges and ensure a smooth execution.
